IntroductionMarchantiidae is the main part of the Marchantianae. In many classifications the Orders in it are Blasiales, Marchantiales, Pelliales, Metzgeriales, Porellales and Jungermanniales. There is quite some confusion about the classification of mosses. This is the more so about the Orders, Subclases and Classes.
An example of Pelliaceae will make this apparent. It can be classified as:
Pelliaceae, Pelliales, Pellidae, Jungermanniospsaida, Marchantiophyta.
Pelliaceae, Metzgeriales, Metzgeriidae, Jungermanniospsaida, Marchantiophyta.
Plant theoryAccording to the Plant theory the clades are very imbalanced in quantity. The Jungermanniales is by far the biggest Order. The other Orders are very small and thus put together. The Jungermanniales should probably be split, but the curious thing is that there is not homeopathic information about them, so irt is hard to know how to do so.
