Corvus corax
Year 2025, Issue 9, Article 11CaseAuthor: Kellie Kirkpatrick
Boy, 7, The youngest child of three was 7 at the time Corvus corax was prescribed. Initially, the grandmother brought him in because he was always carrying around a blanket and sucking it and the blanket was very very stinky. If they tried to wash the blanket, he became very upset. The stinkier, the dirtier, the better. He did not bring it to school. But then the issue of his behavior became more prominent. He is well-behaved in school. At home, he’d been throwing things, crying, making faces, making fists all the time. He wants to punch people. He says “I would have stabbed him”. He is often scowling with his fists raised. He’s so restless in the apartment. The grandmother says, “it is a reaction to any time he doesn’t feel his needs are satisfied”. (Rubric: anger, will, if things do not go after ones). If the grandmother bought a pair of sneakers for him six weeks ago and now buys one for his brother, he is crying and screaming that it’s not fair. He shrieks and the neighbors complain. He started getting angry after his father left a few years ago. He says “if I see him, I’ll punch him in the face”. The father really left. They never see the father and he already has a baby with another woman. He took the monthly checks from the government meant for the children and kept them for himself. The boy is very sweet during the appointment.
His equally favorite color choices were black and 17C. He says, “I’m the only kid in my class who likes black”. He says he likes black because when you mess up, black can color over it, because it's dark.AnalysisCorvus corax was given as it was seen in the rubric "anger, if things do not go after one's will". Of course, this aspect is common in children. As confirmation, Corvus corax is also in the rubric "shrieking in anger" and the color choices matched on homeo.de. But I also had another case of a boy who was very angry and was shrieking a lot who did well on this remedy, so I decided to try it. Really, I just had a good feeling about it.
Phase 6: the stinkier, the dirtier, the better. Follow upHe changed from the beginning after the Corvus corax. Now he rarely gets angry. They say he is very “zen” and a totally different boy. He still carries the blanket but he is less attached to it than before. Other remedies were tried to no avail.DiscussionWhat's interesting is that this boy's older brother also did well on a bird remedy, Columba palumbus. He also had issues since the father left, mainly frequent nightmares with moaning, yelling and sleep walking, as well as overconcern for his mother's well being.
He had a significant amelioration, around 80%, but not a complete cure. Birds can be very family oriented and this brother's symptoms also started when the father left. Of course, it would be challenging for many children if the father were to leave.... but I thought it was notable that both siblings were significantly helped with bird remedies. —————————
