Habitat: elevations of 300 to 600 meters.
Botany
Tree; 4 to 6 meters tall.
Stem: narrow; few cm wide.
Leaves: 26 centimeters, 9 cm wide; roughly oval in shape with long, pointed tips.
Inflorescences: in the leaf axils and directly from the trunk.
Flowers: male and bisexual flowers; 1 work of red sepals; two whorls of red petals, spreading outward and sometimes curl backward toward the stalk; 16 to 19 stamens with bright yellow tips.
Pollination buzz, unique in Magnoliidae but common in Solanaceae.
