Family
Region: Afghanistan, Pakistan, West Himalaya, Kashmir. Ladak.
Habitat: common, widespread; elevation from 300 to 2400 m.
BotanyHerb; erect to decumbent; 8 to 25 cm tall.
Stem: branched from the base; branches spreading to ascending, covered with appressed to subappressed hairs.
Leaves: basal, lower cauline; 10 to 20 by 3 to 5 mm; oblanceolate; both surfaces covered with thin subappressed hairs arising from a tuberculate base; upper leaves similar but smaller.
Inflorescence: secund racemes; pedicels ± 2 mm in flower.
Flowers: deflexed; up to 7 mm; hairy pubescent; calyx lobes ± 2 mm long; lanceolate, tips curved toward inside, in fruit strongly so and up to 34 mm in fruit. Corolla pale blue to blue; tube 1.5-2 mm long; flowering from March to April.
Fruit: nutlets; ± 3 mm long; greyish yellow or yellowish brown; minutely papillose; style exserted above nutlets.
