Family: Polypodiaceae
Region: Southeast Asia, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia.
Habitat: prefers shaded, moist environments, in humid, rainforests; tropical and subtropical; growing as an epiphyte on tree trunks or on shaded rocks in the forest; high humidity and moderate temperatures.
Use: ornamental, in hanging baskets, terrariums, or mounted on wood or other surfaces, valued for its delicate, feathery fronds.
BotanyFern: small, epiphytic fern; creeping, spreading form; attached to trees, rocks, or other plants in humid environments.
Leaves: narrow; delicate; linear; to 15 cm long; pinnately divided, each leaflet finely dissected; feathery appearance; light to medium green.
Sori: located on the underside of the leaves; covered by a thin, transparent indusium.
Rhizome: small, creeping rhizome from which fronds and roots emerge.
Roots: fine, thread-like; emerge from the rhizome.
