English: Desert green gentian; Desert frasera.
Region: southwestern United States.
Habitat: open, dry areas, such as desert woodlands.
BotanyPerennial herb; one or more stems, up to 30 to 60 centimeters tall.
Leaves: green, with distinct white margins; basally lance-shaped, up to 9 centimeters long by one wide; higher leaves are smaller and narrower, in whorls or opposite.
Inflorescence: open panicle.
Flowers: the top of the stem.
Corolla: 4 pointed lobes, greenish white, darker green at the tips, with purple speckles.
Stamens: 4; tipped with large anthers and a central ovary.
