TaxonomyEuphronia has been variously allied with the Trigoniaceae and Vochysiaceae. Morphological data were unable to place Euphronia in a family. Molecular sequence data place Euphronia in its own family as sister to the Chrysobalanaceae, Dichapetalaceae and Trigoniaceae.
