Name: arborescens is also Latin for 'tree-shaped'.
Synonym: Cotyledon arborescens; Cotyledon punctata; Crassula arborea; Crassula cotyledon; Crassula cotyledonifolia; Toelkenia arborescens.
Region: South Africa, Western Cape, Natal, Lesotho, Swaziland.
Habitat: on dry, sandy or gravelly sites; dry rocky places; drought tolerant.
Use: ornamental, succulent gardens.
BotanyShrub; succulent; perennial; 60 to 120 to 200 cm.
Stem: woody; much branched; 20 cm thick.
Leaves: round to broad oval; 3 cm wide; fleshy; hairless; convex on both sides; silvery blue-green colored with red margins and dots on the upper surface.
Inflorescence: rounded panicle.
Flowers: white to pale pink; star-shaped; petals 4, cross-planted, to 1 cm long, pointed; pedicle 7 cm long; blooming in winter.
