English: Blue pincushion; Native cornflower.
Region: Australia.
Habitat: woodlands, open forest, sand plains.
Botany: perennial or annual herb; stylar pollen-cup, or indusium; flowers radially symmetric; superior ovary; absence of endosperm in the seeds; leaves 10 cm long, form a basal rosette; flowers in spring, dense hemispherical clusters of numerous, small, bright blue flowers developing on several stems.
TaxonomyIn Cronquist's classification it was the sole member of Brunoniaceae. The APG II system moved it to Goodeniaceae.
