Name: Arthrophyllum menas jointed leaf, diversifolium menas diversely shaped leaves.
English: Common Ivy Palm; Tumbuh Kelapa.
Region: West Maleisia.
BotanyLeaves: spirally arranged, near the terminal ends of the tree, giving a bushy feel; pinnately arranged, with long petioles, prominent swollen petiole ends, which cups to the branches; leaflets large, up to about 20 cm.
Stem: only a few branches, haphazard, unsightly manner.
Interesting factsA mixture of the root and bark are reported to have medicinal properties, a remedy for syphilis (Flora Malesiana, 2017).
