BoytanyFerns; epiphytes.
Stem: rhizome with distinct upper and lower side, lacking radial symmetry.
Leaves: simple, straplike; borne in two ranks in a single plane; lack a midrib, unlike Scoliosorus; netlike venation, with three or more rows of areolae on either side of the midline.
Sori: along the veins; network with netlike venation; bear minute hairs with spherical cells at the tip.
Spores: monolete, Antrophyum has trilete spores.
