Year 2006, Issue 4, Article 8CaseAuthor: Jan Scholten
Case by Jan Scholten
He has a strong nausea often going to a strong disgust. Food and drinks don't influence this state. It is worse in the morning when he wakes and it lasts strongly at least half an hour to an hour. With it, he has an aversion to everything like shaving, clothing, shopping. Everything feels as a burden, life is rotten. It feels that he has to vomit but it doesn't happen.
For 20 years, he has a pain in his testes, as if someone has kicked against them. Since then he has lacking erections. His pain is so bad that he gets disappointed in life, thinking "Is that everything that life has to offer". The severe pain brings him to suicidal thoughts. He has been begging and praying to get relief. He got an aversion to all the doctors who couldn't help him. Mostly, he can only lie in his bed thinking "what have I done wrong?".
He feels that his energy is not flowing anymore and that leads to pain in his heart. Clairvoyants tell him the same, that there he has a resistance against the flow of energy and that he is cramping. Twenty years before he had a strong pain in his heart. He was hospitalised and brought to the intensive care. But the cardiologist couldn't find anything and it all went over in short time.
He has had many different jobs. He wanted to go to the film Academy or writing poetry, but his father ridiculed those things. So he studied sociology. He enjoyed the students time because then he was free to go his own way, living in a student town. But sociology didn't work out for him so he turned to law. But that didn't work out either. Then had several jobs like night guard in a psychiatric hospital, employee in a restaurant of an elderly home, home care, and host is an elderly home. He mostly just worked for the money and often found jobs where he had a lot of free time for his real interests. He has been interested in psychology, philosophy, sufism music and alternative medicine. He even followed an study for additive healing methods like foot reflexology and shiatsu.
He had many relationships, but never a lasting one. He has never lived together although he would have wanted it. So he never got children, but that is how it is. Sexuality though is very important for him and problems in that field lead to more complaints of nausea and pain in his heart and testis.
His whole life he has been a vagrant. He always has been searching what life is, what the purpose is. He says: "Life is bittersweet and not a paradise. Life is a wonder and a mystery, but we are our lives. We arrive on this world without being questioned. Life is an unrequested conditioning. You can think that you can ameliorate live, but that doesn't have substance. Things are as they are and that is the beauty and I am the witness, the Tao" He feels very frustrated when he thinks of old age and decay, that everything comes and goes and nothing is permanent. He fears agony, helplessness, ramshackleness.
