Woman, 50, chronic fatigue syndrome.
She has blond, red, very short curly hair, wires classes. She has a grey silk shirt. Very pale. Speak a bit looking at him, then looks off right. Her head is bend to right side.
She has a chronic fatigue syndrome for 20 years. See feels weak. It began during a time when she was working very hard having a household, working as a teacher, studying for a higher degree and a lot of hobbies. The fatigue went together with chest pain and oppression. She feared getting a heart attack, but hospital excluded that. She has palpitations, as if the heart misses one beat, ± 15 times a day. They diagnosed her pains as inflammation of joints of ribs to sternum. She is too tired to eat, couldn’t move spoon to her mouth. Her life was useless. People visiting was too tiring as she had to talk. She is so tired that small exertions would make her weep, even thinking in the morning of peeling two potatoes in the afternoon would make her weep.
Her husband was an alcoholic who beat her. She went on with it, because he was always promising to stop and go to therapy. She always hoped it would become better. She didn’t tell anyone including her family, because she didn’t want them to always see him as an alcoholic if he recovered. She always had a suitcase ready to leave immediately. When she left one day her family was astonished. She wouldn’t have survived without children.
She has pains in joints, muscles and bones, cramps in legs at night. She has pain in her right arm and left leg, and pain in her hand, she drops things. Her toes are cold as if dead or burning from heat for ten years, < warm applications, Valerian.
She has sudden, boring pains in temples, < pressure, the left side.
She has recurrent maxillary sinusitis since youth. Pulsating < stooping. Can have bleeding in nose with it. Sinusistis > with Silicea but didn’t touch CFS.
She has oesphageal pain as if something is stuck, like a hot potatoe.
She has stomach pains for years.
Bloated abdomen from one moment to another
She can have diarrhoea which can last for weeks.
She has a bitter taste, < morning on rising, together with burning pain in her tongue, worse from bread baked with yeast.
She had frequent cystitis in the past.
She has a big problems with memory. In Germany she would totally forget meaning of words. Also she would be in a town and be totally lost about how to get home. She had to phone her second husband and have him come to get her. Also she would be cooking potatoes and find she had put them in the refrigerator instead of the stove. In a car, she would wonder why the car wouldn’t drive, but she was sitting in the back.
During consultation, worried about going home. She’d have to go down stairs, etc.
Perfectionistic. Wants to do everything well. With teaching it has to be 110 or 120%
Very patient in teaching. Can explain hundreds of times without problems.
Closed in talking about herself. Wants to solve problems herself. The reason is she is quite suspicious. If you tell a person something, later they can use it against you.
Easily hurt.
Always feels she has to go on but she couldn’t.
She has a lamenting quality: all is too difficult.
Colleagues in school and husband and children get tired of hearing her complaints. They are all bored with it, but who else can she tell?
Oldest of four children. Already reserved as a child. Though she talked a lot, it was not about herself.
Remarried, ten years after her first marriage.
Dreams: running away from ex-husband over buildings, roofs, parking garages, etc. When she wakes, she has the feeling she has been busy all night running and working and feels exhausted.
GeneralsShe is chilly, has an aversion rainy, cloudy weather. She fears thunderstorms. Storms mean she has to work harder on her bicycle.
She feels worse in the afternoon, 4 to 6 pm.
Desires sweets, especially chocolate.
Aversion: cooked vegetables.
Meat gives diarrhoea with the odour of rotten eggs.
AnalysisNo so much Compositae symptoms. No frontal sinusitis, not much bleeding, no high fever. Theme of CFS is not special for the Compositae.
With extreme fatigue, think of the acids first.
Diarrhea for weeks.
Stomach pain.
Agg. meat, protein
Iron series: very hard work, of household, working, studying; perfectionist, being busy all the time, even in dreams.
Phase 5: talks a lot.
Phase 2: attacked, not fighting back; very patient.
Prescription: 3-644.52.12, Medicago sativa.
Follow upShe did very well. Her chronic fatigue syndrome disappeared in a few months.
